Professional Notary Services When You Need Them
Documents get rejected. Immigration applications stall because copies weren’t properly certified. Travel plans fall apart because consent letters weren’t notarized. Banks refuse to process transactions because signatures weren’t witnessed. International employers won’t accept credentials without authentication. These problems have solutions, but they require a notary who’s available when you need them and knows exactly what each situation requires.
As a licensed Notary Public appointed by the Province of Ontario, I provide document certification and notarization services throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Same-day appointments are available including evenings and weekends. For clients who can’t travel to our office due to mobility issues, medical situations, or urgent business needs, I offer mobile notary services throughout Toronto and the immediate GTA. Your documents will be completed correctly the first time so they’re accepted wherever you need to submit them. Not sure what documentation you need? Our notary preparation guides explain requirements for certified copies, affidavits, travel consent, and international authentication.
Notary Services I Provide
Document certification and authentication for personal, business, and legal matters
Certified True Copies
When organizations require certified copies rather than photocopies, I verify the original document and certify that your copy is a true and accurate reproduction. This includes passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, transcripts, professional credentials, immigration documents, and identification. Certified copies are commonly required for immigration applications, educational institutions, employment abroad, professional licensing, and government agencies. Our certified copies guide explains what documents qualify and what to bring.
International Document Authentication
Documents going outside Canada often require notarization as the first step before authentication by Global Affairs Canada. Since January 2024, Canada is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, simplifying the process for documents going to member countries. I notarize documents and advise on the complete authentication process required for your destination country, whether that’s apostille certification or traditional authentication and legalization through embassies.
Travel Consent Letters
When children travel internationally without both parents, border authorities and airlines require notarized consent letters to prevent child abduction. Whether your child is traveling with one parent, grandparents, relatives, friends, or on a school trip, I prepare and notarize consent letters that meet Canadian border requirements. Our travel consent letter guide explains what information to include and when notarization is required. Don’t risk having your child’s trip disrupted at the airport—get proper documentation before you travel.
Powers of Attorney & Legal Documents
Powers of attorney for property or personal care, real estate documents, contracts, and other legal documents often require notarization to be legally effective or accepted by banks and financial institutions. Our POA notarization guide explains Ontario’s witnessing requirements and when notarization adds value. I witness signatures, verify identity and understanding, and complete the notarial certification that makes these documents valid and enforceable.
Affidavits & Statutory Declarations
Sworn statements for court proceedings, insurance claims, government applications, name changes, lost documents, and other legal purposes. I administer the oath or affirmation, witness your signature, and complete the documentation that creates a legally binding statement. Our affidavit preparation guide covers formatting and exhibit requirements. For Ontario court documents and government applications, see also our Commissioner of Oaths services.

Why Proper Notarization Matters
Documents that aren’t properly notarized get rejected. This causes delays, missed deadlines, and sometimes permanent consequences when limitation periods expire or opportunities pass. Getting it right the first time saves time, money, and stress.
→ Immigration Delays
Applications returned because certified copies don’t meet requirements. Processing times restart while you gather proper documentation.
→ Travel Disruption
Children stopped at borders because consent letters weren’t properly notarized. Trips cancelled, flights missed, money lost.
→ Transactions Blocked
Banks and financial institutions refusing to process documents that weren’t properly witnessed or certified.
→ International Rejection
Documents rejected abroad because authentication requirements weren’t understood or completed properly.
How It Works
1. Book Your Appointment
Call or message to schedule. Same-day appointments available including evenings and weekends. Tell me what documents you need notarized so I can confirm requirements and ensure you bring everything needed.
2. Bring Your Documents & ID
Bring original documents (not photocopies), valid government-issued photo ID, and any documents requiring your signature unsigned. For affidavits, have the document prepared but don’t sign until you’re with me.
3. Complete & Certified
I verify identity, witness signatures, administer oaths if required, and complete notarial certification. You leave with properly notarized documents ready to submit. Most appointments take fifteen minutes or less.
Notary Services Across the GTA
Office appointments available in downtown Toronto at 2 Bloor Street West. Mobile notary services available throughout Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, and surrounding areas for clients who cannot travel due to medical situations, mobility limitations, or urgent business needs. Additional travel fees apply for mobile services.
Common Questions
How much do notary services cost?
Simple notarizations like certifying a single document or witnessing a straightforward signature typically range from twenty to fifty dollars. Complex documents or multiple items may cost more. Mobile services include additional travel fees. All fees are disclosed upfront before any work begins—no surprises.
What ID do I need?
One piece of current, valid government-issued photo ID: driver’s license, Canadian passport, Ontario Photo Card, or Permanent Resident Card. The name on your ID must match the name on the document. If your name has changed, bring supporting documentation like a marriage certificate or legal name change.
Can you notarize documents for use outside Canada?
Yes. I notarize documents for international use and advise on additional authentication requirements. Since January 2024, Canada is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, which simplifies the process for member countries. Other countries require traditional authentication through Global Affairs Canada and the foreign embassy. Contact me with your destination country and I’ll explain exactly what’s needed.
Can you notarize a document that’s already signed?
No. For signature witnessing and affidavits, you must sign in my presence – that’s the fundamental purpose of notarization. If you’ve already signed, you’ll need a new unsigned copy. The exception is certifying copies of already-signed documents as true copies, which doesn’t require you to sign anything new.
Do you offer same-day or emergency appointments?
Yes. Same-day appointments are available for urgent matters, including evenings and weekends. For true emergencies like travel the next day, call directly rather than booking online. I accommodate urgent needs whenever possible.
What’s the difference between a Notary Public and Commissioner of Oaths?
Notaries Public have broader authority including certifying true copies and authenticating documents for international use. Commissioners of Oaths specifically administer oaths for affidavits and statutory declarations, primarily for use within Ontario. I hold both appointments. For court affidavits and government declarations, see our Commissioner of Oaths services.
